We Need Your Help!
At the end of July we discovered that the ceiling above our suspended ceiling in the main room in our Parish Room had deteriorated with age and was falling down. BAD NEWS FOR US.
We need to take down the false ceiling and remove all the old ceiling material then make it good by installing a new suspended ceiling. This will tax our already overstretched funds. In the past few years we have had major expense in repairing the church and improving the drainage, restoring the clock, restoring the church windows and relaying the Yorkshire Stone paving around the church to improve health and safety. We were grateful to everyone who donated to the clock appeal that partially paid for its restoration.
We have many groups using the Parish Room including Knit and Natter, Lunch Club, Toddler Group, Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, Saviour Trust, Judo and Boxing. Some can use the upstairs and lobby or go into church for their meetings but others need to find a temporary alternative. We are continuing with all church functions like the Heritage Day, Macmillan Coffee Morning, and Harvest Supper. We will use the church when necessary.
We need your help in the form of donations or fund raising events so that we can fix the ceiling and continue to offer a safe, warm space to the community for meetings and events.
If you can help, please contact Linda or Janet. Each new ceiling tile costs £5 - £6 and we need lots. We will gratefully accept donations and will try to support any fundraising events.
